Who can take this course? What are the prerequisites?
MOOCs on the FIRST BUSINESS MOOC platform are open to everyone. In fact, all you need is an Internet connection and a desire to learn the best practices. Some courses have prerequisites, others don't. Please take a look at the recommended prerequisites on your course's description page. During the course, if you require supplementary reading material, you can use the discussion forum set up for the MOOC to ask the professor and other participants for suggestions.
How much does it cost?
The MOOCs are available for free. The first 4 weeks are entirely free. At the end of Week 4, we will propose you an optional Week 5. At this moment, if you decide to continue the MOOC and subscribe to Week 5, you will pay a fee of $29 for students and $59 for professionals.
How do I sign up to take a course?
Simply fill in the registration form. It's free. You will receive a username and password and will have access to the course platform. Click on register now to get started.

What if I encounter problems with registration, login or course access?
Most problems with registration, login or course access are due to simple browser issues. Here are some suggestions:
- Clear your browser's cache
- Switch to a current version of Chrome or Firefox

What happens after I sign up?
You will receive an account activation email. You will then need to enter your login details each time you access your courses. From the course start date onwards, you can access at the beginning of each week; you will have a live session scheduled once a week, which will be available anytime as it is recorded; you communicate with the professor and other participants using chats and discussion forums; you can test your acquired knowledge with quizzes and by solving case studies.
When does my course start/finish?
The start and finish dates of the course are available on the course description page. You may quit the course whenever you wish. You will be able to retake the course at a later date (provided it is being run again). Some content will be available on the platform before the course start date.
What time is the class?
Firstbusinessmooc classes take place at your convenience. You prefer staying up and working late? No problem. The videos, MCQs and case studies are available 24 hours a day, which means you can watch the videos and complete the work whenever you have spare time.
What is the workload required for the course?
The projected hours of personal study required is indicated on the course description page; it is recommended to follow the lectures diligently each week. Given that the video lectures and the live video sessions are recorded, it is always possible to catch up on any classes you may have missed.
How can I meet other participants?
All the Firstbusinessmooc courses have Spreecast forum and message boards where you can chat with other participants and help one another. You can follow us on Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook or Google+. Furthermore, meet-ups can be arranged, putting participants in contact so that they can exchange or prepare case studies together.
How can I communicate with professors, teaching assistants and fellow participants?
You can contact professors by using forums or participating to weekly live sessions to reach out and ask your questions. We will do our best to respond as promptly as possible.
When will courses on other subjects be available?
We are in the process of developing other courses which will soon be made available on the Firstbusinessmooc platform.
